Before you start
- Unpack kubi 2.0
Gather what you need

Charge kubi 2.0
Charge kubi 2.0 with a USB-C cable (AC power). While it is receiving power from the cable, the power lamp is solid orange. When fully charged, all three battery lamps blink green slowly.
Once charged, you can unplug the cable and use kubi 2.0 for about 4 hours (this depends on how it is used).
Check
You are done when your iPad meets the mounting conditions and all three battery lamps on kubi 2.0 are lit.
Attach the metal plate
kubi 2.0 holds the iPad with a strong magnet, using a metal plate attached to the back of the iPad. Attach the supplied plate to the back of the iPad (or its case) once, before first use.
When you finish
The metal plate is firmly attached to the center of the back of the iPad (or its case).
Before you start
- The supplied metal plate
- Something to clean the back, such as a cleaner
- If you use a case, the iPad with the case on
Clean the back
Wipe dirt and oil off the back of the iPad (or the back of the case, if you use one) with a cleaner. If dirt remains, the plate can come off more easily.
Left: a case. Right: the back of the iPad. If you use a case, attach the plate to the back of the case. Stick the plate to the center of the back
Peel the backing off the double-sided tape on the plate and press the plate firmly onto the center of the back (the position that matches the iPad's center of gravity).
Attach the metal plate to the center of the back.
Check
You are done when the plate sits flat and straight in the center of the back.
Mount the iPad on kubi 2.0
Mount the iPad with the plate on the arm of kubi 2.0, using the magnet. Gaps or wobbling can make the iPad shift when the head moves.
When you finish
The iPad is held firmly on kubi 2.0.
Before you start
- An iPad with the metal plate attached (guide 2)
Set the iPad on the arm
Line up the plate with the magnet holder on the kubi 2.0 arm and bring the iPad close until the holder snaps on with a click.
Mounted in landscape. Portrait works with iPads with a screen of 12 inches or less. Check for gaps and wobbling
Gently shake the iPad to check that there are no gaps and it does not wobble. Also check that the plate does not stick out from the arm's mount.
Left (NG): the plate sticks out from the mount. Right (OK): no gaps, and the plate sits in the center of the mount.
Check
You are done when the iPad does not move when gently shaken and the plate sits in the center of the mount.
Turn on and check the lamps
Turn kubi 2.0 on and use the lamps to check its status and battery level. When an app connects, the status lamp turns blue.
When you finish
kubi 2.0 is on and ready to connect to an app.
Before you start

Hold the power button for 3 seconds or more

- No app is connected. Connect to kubi 2.0 from the app on the iPad, and check that Bluetooth on the iPad is on.
